A blocked air filter affects fuelling and idle. The cabin filter is on the interior side and is not added to this job automatically.

Engine oil, the oil filter and the air filter are replaced. A fuel filter is mentioned separately when the engine has one and its interval is due.

When should it be checked?
Oily soot in the air box, weak pull or an uneven idle is a reason to check the filters. An oil lamp also requires a look at level and leaks.

Oil, oil filter and air filter are renewed.

Lid, clamps and hose seating are inspected.
Technical notes
The filter number is matched to the VIN and the engine code. If the box lid is cracked or a clamp is missing, a new filter does not stop the dust; the lid is noted.
