The fan, a blocked filter and the flap position separate weak airflow.
The heater and the air conditioning are not the same circuit.
Gas
Gas is discussed only after a leak check and after the correct type is read.

Cleaning is planned when the source of the smell is seen.
A deodoriser that covers the smell is not a repair.
